The Trip
Get ready to experience Panama- a country where the concept of exotic begins in its name, which means “abundance of fish and butterflies” in the indigenous language. You will fly from Raleigh, NC into the beautiful Panama City to minister the love of God. As you leave the airport, you will notice that the tropical air is warm and moist, even if it’s night. Though parts of Panama are in the mountains and quite cool, the lower regions around Panama City are warm and humid year round, and support a wonderful diversity of plant and animal life. We’ll spend some time ministering in the city, and then go out into the villages and work with local churches to spread the message of God’s saving grace. After returning to Panama City, we will be part of “One Life” student crusades put on by Charismax Ministries and Sean Park. What a terrific impact we will have there! Training
The Panama adventure will begin in Raleigh, NC, with three days of intensive training. We’ll spend time each day learning an evangelistic drama. An allegorical pantomime set to music; Spellbound parallels the story of the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus. No drama experience is required to take part in this powerful drama, just lots of energy! We’ll also participate in learning a bit of Spanish, and some about the culture. By the time you leave this time, you will be prepared like never before to minister God’s love to the people of Panama.
Services
Each night in NC, Charismax Ministries will prepare your heart to minister to the people of Panama with a dynamic service. The services will kick off with the Charismax Ministries band leading us in praise and worship. There will be bright lights, video roll-ins, and messages from Sean Park. You will get recharged in your relationship with God and prepared to launch out into this awesome adventure in God!
A Day in the Life of a Maximum Missionary
Once in Panama, you will wake up each morning anticipating a day filled sharing God with the local people. We’ll wake up early, and spend time alone seeking God and preparing our hearts for the day ahead. Next, is breakfast, costume and makeup time. Then we’ll load up and head out to the first drama site. After setting up a basic sound system, we’ll begin playing some loud music and doing some fun stunts to attract a crowd. We will do some evangelistic dramas, give testimonies and love on the people. When the drama ends, we will invite people to chose God as their Savior and Lord. We’ll spend some time in one-on-one ministry, praying with people individually, and then it’s time to pack up and head to the next drama site! Tired, but filled with memories of the day, we’ll go home to dinner, rest, free time and some group ministry.
Fun Days
We won’t minister every day! Imagine spending your free days hiking through the mountains, soaking up the sun at the coast, or viewing a man-made wonder of the world, the Panama Canal. Or maybe you’ll spend the day browsing at one of the many open-air markets for woodcarvings and ceramics, looking for just the right souvenir to remind you of this once in a lifetime adventure.
