The Trip
From high up in the Andes Mountains to the jungles of the Amazon, Peru, land of the Incas, is a place of incredible beauty and diversity. The culture is a mix of the native Incas and the Spanish, and the predominate religion is Catholicism. You will fly from Raleigh, NC into Lima to minister the love of God. The first thing you will notice when we land in Lima is the temperature. When we get there in July, it is the middle of winter, so it will be the coolest part of the year, so be sure and bring a jacket! We’ll spend some time ministering in the city, and then go out into the villages and work with local churches to spread the message of God’s saving grace. What a terrific impact we will have there!
Training
The Peru adventure will begin in Raleigh, NC, with three days of intensive training. We’ll spend time each day learning an evangelistic drama. An allegorical pantomime set to music, The Kingdom is a 20 minute drama set in medieval times that demonstrates Christ’s saving grace. No drama experience is required to take part in this powerful drama, just lots of energy! We’ll also participate in learning a bit of Spanish, and some about the culture. By the time you leave, you will be prepared like never before to minister God’s love to the people of Peru.
Services
Each night in NC, Charismax Ministries will prepare your heart to minister to the people of Peru with a dynamic service. The services will kick off with the Charismax Ministries band leading us in praise and worship. There will be bright lights, video roll-ins, and messages from Sean Park. You will get recharged in your relationship with God and prepared to launch out into this awesome adventure in God!
A Day in the Life of a Maximum Missionary
Once in Peru, you will wake up each morning anticipating a day filled sharing God with the local people. We’ll wake up early, and spend time alone seeking God and preparing our hearts for the day ahead. Next, is breakfast, costume and makeup time. Then we’ll load up and head out to the first drama site. After setting up a basic sound system, we’ll begin playing some loud music and doing some fun stunts to attract a crowd. We will do some evangelistic dramas, give testimonies and love on the people. When the drama ends, we will invite people to choose God as their Savior and Lord. We’ll spend some time in one-on-one ministry, praying with people individually, and then it’s time to pack up and head to the next drama site! Tired, but filled with memories of the day, we’ll go home to dinner, rest, free time and some group ministry.
Fun Days
We won’t minister every day! Imagine spending your free days viewing ancient Inca ruins, soaking up the sun at the coast, or hiking in the Andes Mountains. Or maybe you’ll spend the day browsing at one of the many open-air markets looking for just the right souvenir to remind you of this once in a lifetime adventure: a genuine alpaca pull-over, gold jewelry, or maybe even some Brazil nuts or Peruvian Coffee.
